Janome Love

I just had to post a picture of the first thing I made on my beautiful, brand new Janome sewing machine.  It is a mini laundry bag for the socks that I am going to knit (nothing like being prepared – I have not yet completed one sock!)  They idea is that they don’t get mixed in with the normal washing.  It is not the best sewing I have done, but the fabric is fab and the machine was a joy to use.  Enjoy…

Congratulations! Gorgeous fabric. I like the idea of a separate laundry bag for your handknit socks. I should have separate laundry bags for all kinds of things after having just washed two days’ worth of winter football kit from one teenage son …. but you don’t want to know about that when I’m writing about something so lovely 😉

Thanks Ceri. I am a little premature making it, when I cannot seem to knit a sock successfully yet! I am having real trouble with ladders. I know what I ‘should’ be doing but it doesn’t seem to be happening. I am going to try magic loop if ‘tugging the second stitch on each needle’ doesn’t close them up. I suspect that if I was knitting a simple lace pattern, or even a rib, the ladders would be less obvious. It is probably because I am knitting a plain sock in gorgeous, silky smooth Malabrigo! Hey ho!

Don’t you just hate laundry days! 🙂
